Instructions:
- Gather supplies.
- Mix white paint with a bit of yellow and brown for pale background color.
- Airbrush leaf stencil on a quarter of the canvas.
- Remove the stencil and airbrush it again until the other three quarters of the canvas are covered with the same design.
- Mix white paint with a bit of green and red. Airbrush leaf stencil twice tilting it at interesting angles and setting one higher than the other.
- Tape down flower stencils and quickly apply globs of caulking to each. Spread it with an old credit card without flattening the texture completely.
- Remove the stencil slowly and carefully to prevent lifting of the design.
- When caulking is set, press a foam applicator onto a wet sponge then into the powder. Dab the powder onto the caulking.
- Outline one side of the green leaves and stems with an alcohol pen.
Tips:
- To prevent paint build up on the stencil between applications, immerse it in warm sudsy water.
- Keep a separate tub of warm sudsy water to clean the caulking from the stencil.
- If some of the caulking comes off the canvas when removing the stencil, simply apply more straight from the applicator tip.
- If pigment powder falls into unintended canvas areas, blow on it to remove it. You can also use a fine wet brush to wash away any pigment dried on the canvas.
